In contemporary architecture, concrete is having a moment. Now, a new two-volume book, 100 Contemporary Concrete Buildings (Taschen, $60), examines some of the best examples from the last century.

The undulating façade of this 66-story residential tower in Singapore, devised by Ben van Berkel of Dutch firm UNStudio, is made almost entirely of concrete.
