In the living room, Hunt married the owners' tastes by fusing lighter Nordic blues with darker furniture. "The house just needed to be brightened," says the designer. Stark fabric on stools, with trim from Scalamandré.

"Laura completely transformed the dining room," says Karin Luter. The Italian Baroque–style table provides ample space for the couple, who entertain often.

"Joe is a collector at heart," notes Hunt. Beyond the antique bed he purchased for the master bedroom is a floor lamp made from an 18th-century French brass oil lamp. The base of the lamp on the side table was an 18th-century Italian candlestick.
