Rent Sting’s Italian Estate, Il Palagio

By Patrick Wilson

If you were inspired by AD’s exclusive tour of Trudie Styler and Sting’s Tuscan villa a few years ago—or perhaps by our story about their meticulous seven-year renovation —this is a lucky moment for you: The couple is now accepting bookings for weddings, events, and weekly stays at their magnificent Il Palagio. They purchased the villa in the late 1990s and, along with landscape architect Arabella Lennox-Boyd, transformed what was formerly a rundown estate into a warm, rustic retreat worthy of rock royalty.

This actually isn’t the first time the couple have opened part of their residence to the public: Honey, wine, and olive oil from the beehives, vineyards, and orchards are sold online, as well as in a store located on the grounds. Each of the four guesthouses and two annexes to the main villa can accommodate 50 guests, while a rental of the entire villa can accommodate 500 people for a large wedding or celebration.

Sprawling over 900 verdant acres, the rural-chic spot offers plenty of places to relax and play, including a tennis court, swimming pool, lake, and yoga center. But more whimsical touches, such as a life-size chessboard, a lakeside tree house, and a giant statue of Buddha in the villa’s chapel, reveal the personality and charm of the rock icon and actress-producer who so lovingly and thoughtfully revitalized Il Palagio. And, this being Sting’s home, a recording studio is also available.
