See the Four Designs Shortlisted for London’s Latest Pedestrian Bridge

By Patrick Wilson

In December 2014, the London borough of Wandsworth launched an international competition to design the newest bridge to cross the Thames. The pedestrian and bicycle thoroughfare will connect the vibrant Nine Elms district on the south bank to the elegant neighborhood of Pimlico. From the 74 initial designs chosen in March , the jury has selected four finalists.

The four designs were created by the firms Buro Happold, Bystrup Architecture Design and Engineering, and Ove Arup & Partners, which had two proposals selected for the final phase of the competition.

A winner will be announced this fall, though funding is still being secured for the project.
