Furniture manufacturing in the US has managed to stay somewhat resilient despite competition from lower-cost imports. Many of the companies listed here still endeavor to manufacture most, if not all, of their articles here in the States, and many have been at it for years. Perhaps the idea of ordering a sofa or loveseat that has been built by hand and delivered fully assembled appeals to the desire to own an heirloom, a feeling that might not accompany furniture that ships in a carton and snaps together on the living room rug.
